Charity project #5

Hi! Today our charity project had its grand finale as two girls from our group, Gabrysia and Martyna, went together with our coordinator to do the shopping and give the presenst to the kids from the Lublin Orphanage. During the whole event we managed to raise 720zł! From that money, we bought umbrellas and toys for the kids online and the girls did some grocery shopping, including cereal, juices, milk etc for the whole community living in the house. I am very sad I could not be there with them yet because of the covid-19 restrictions such situation was impossible. I am however really glad we managed to raise so much money and prepare beautiful presents for the children. This project not only taught me how to work in a group and organise an event, but also showed my how I can help others and how much we can do for each other. I am sure I’ll want to do something similar in the future.

Philosophy Day lecture

Hi! Today I took part in a lecture and discussion held as a part of Philosophy Day, organised by the University of Marie Curie-Skłodowska in Lublin. The lecture was about how does modern physic influence the philosophy of determinism, change the definition of truth and the boundaries of knowledge. The lecture was really interesting and I took some notes during it to study later. I also really enjoyed the discussion that took place after as I could listen to many fascinating ideas and thoughts.

Hi! This week we are starting to actually do what we planed for our charity project. We started an online money collection for children in Mother Weronika’s Orphanage and created a facebook event for it and a poster summing up all the information. The collection was published two days ago and we already have 350zł! I am really happy with how the whole event is going and am really excited for it.

Hi! Even though we are facing the pandemic and  learing online, my school’s running team does not stops the trainings! We were devided into three groups and assigned different training plans to work on our own. Today I decided to try the longest, 1h run in the beautiful ravine in the near of my house. I managed to run 50 minutes and the last 10 were a speed walk. Even though I didn’t do perfectly I am still really proud of myself and hope to improve my skills by practice!

Healthy cooking #3

Hi! Today I decided to put  little twist on my healthy cooking series and prepare something savory insetead of sweet. My choice was shakshuka, a middle eastern dish made of tomatos, eggs and herbs. I am not a really big fan of tomatos but really liked them prepared this way. I am very happy this experience is giving me a possibility to try out new dishes and find new favourites, helping my body stay fit at the same time!

Autumn walk

Hi! Today the weather was so nice I had to leave the house and spend some time on fresh air. I decided to go for a long walk in the area next to my house, with many beautiful trees and views. This experience was a great way to get some physical exercise and appreciate the beauty around me. e.

Hi! Today we had another meeting with our group coordinator, concerning charity project created by me and my classmates. Unfortunatly, due to covid-19, increasing number of cases and more strict restrictions we had to give up our previous plan of a book collection and sale and come up with something else. We decided to raise money  using an online platform and give it to an orphanage led by nuns in our city. Additionally, we wanted to do something to promote reading and expanding the imagination of the kids. We decided on an online brochure, which will comprehend all the information.
