Philosophy essay

 Hi!

As I mentioned in one of my previous posts, I am currently working on an essay for Olimpiada Filozoficzna, a competition focusing on philosphy. The competition has three stages and in order to get into the second one, we are required to prepare an essay not more than 20 pages long where we dicuss one of prescribed topics. This year I chose the topic Happiness and the point of life according to ancient and medieval philosophers. I have to finish the essay until the middle of November and have already written almost half of it. Today I worked on the part concerning Saint Augustine and his perception of happines and point of life. I also corrected some mistakes in the previous parts of the essay.

My choice of topic is strongly connected to my personal interest. I really enjoy reading both ancient and medieval philosophy, comparing its similarities and differences. While writing this essay I came across varoious fascinating ideas and concepts and also reflected on the topic a lot by myself. My perception of both happiness and the point of life have changed and so did my thoughts about it. I feel like participating in the competition is really beneficial for me since I expand both my knowledge and thinking.
